As an animator working in a style that is a mixture of Rubber Hose and CalArts (think Felix the Cat or Gravity Falls). I imagine characters and worlds based on concepts that strike me when I listen to and watch a variety of media.

 

In my art pieces, I try to add elements from my childhood and other sources that inspire the moods and themes I use, with themes of connectivity, loneliness, and struggle, with a touch of cinematic feeling. I use vibrant primary colors to illustrate these drawings. Then I get into drawing a quick sketch to figure out what the piece is. Stick figures help with figuring out where the characters are placed but also with trying to image it from a filmic point of view.

I blend playful visuals with deeper themes, using simple designs and vibrant colors to evoke an emotional connection with the audience. This is the path I want to go forward with and push these themes to help people feel connected through the art of animation.

Drawing inspiration from classic Rubber Hose animation and modern stylized cartoons, I blend playful character designs with themes of connection, loneliness, perseverance, and personal growth.

My creative process focuses on storytelling through strong composition, character acting, and cinematic staging. Whether developing original characters, storyboarding sequences, or producing animated content, I strive to create work that resonates emotionally with audiences while maintaining a distinctive visual style.

I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation from Jacksonville University, where I developed skills in 2D animation, 3D animation, visual development, character design, and digital production. I am proficient in Adobe Animate, Adobe Photoshop, Blender, Maya, and DaVinci Resolve.​
